报告人简介:Prof. Song received his PhD (Boston University) in 2001 and is now a professor of Geography at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His research interests are remote sensing of the environment with multiple sensors for natural resource monitoring; land surface biophysical parameter extraction; land cover/land use change (LCLUC) detection; modeling of the ecological consequence of the terrestrial ecosystem as a result of LCLUC in the context of climate. His papers have been cited for 6037 times with a h-index of 33.
主要内容:Conghe Song’s Remote Sensing and Ecological Modeling Group at UNC have developed a systematic model to estimate large-scale gross primary production (GPP) using physically-based models. Beer’s law is widely applied in most terrestrial ecosystem models (TEMs) that employ the Farquhar leaf scale mechanistic model of CO2 assimilation. Beer’s law brings large error into GPP estimation without consideration of the impact of canopy gap on canopy radiative transfer modeling and sunlit/shaded leaf fraction estimation. Here, Conghe Song included the Li-Strahler Model to provide an alternative option for the representation of canopy 3-D structure in TEM and make it applicable to global-scale.
