报告题目：Urban forest inventory using airborne LiDAR and Hyperspectral Imagery

　　Dr. Fang Qiu is currently an Associate Professor of GIS and Remote Sensing at the University of Texas at Dallas, where he teaches graduate classes in the Program in Geographic Information Sciences. He received his B.Sc. from the East China Normal University in 1990, M.Sc. from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1993, and Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina in 2000.  He is an ESRI-certified GIS instructor and was the first director of the Arc/Info Consulting and Training Center of China. He has conducted numerous government-sponsored GIS projects at the National Lab. of Resources and Environmental Information Systems of China from 1993 to 1996, and NASA Affiliated Research Center remote sensing projects at the University of South Carolina from 1996 to 2000. His research work at the University of Texas at Dallas is being funded by major federal government agencies, such as National Science Foundation (NSF), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), etc. Dr. Qiu has also served as a reviewer for numerous academic journals, book publishers, and as a panelist for National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) proposal review.
